Shelley Anderson
Born in the creative environment of West Cornwall artist and craftsman Shelley Anderson first started toying with metal in his dad’s garage. This led him to train in Silversmithing and Metal Fabrication at Falmouth College of Art.
Shelley worked at the Copper Works Newlyn for eight years, before leaving to create and sell work as an artist in his own right.
Shelley has since gained recognition for his work in restoration from the York Conservation Society and has been awarded a scholarship from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust.
Shelley uses new and innovative techniques to complement his traditional metalworking skills. Inspired by roaming the coastline and landscape of West Cornwall.
Working with metals and recycled materials, his sculptures speak for themselves. Allowing the pieces to be free and organic.
Shelley now works from his studio in the coastal Cornish town of Penzance. He is an integral part of Penzance’s creative community, working on several local projects such as creating pieces for the annual Montol festival.
The past few years have brought Shelley several large commissions, including his unique bronze resin panel pieces, see the Commissions page here for more details on these and other projects worked on.
